Dwell in the Stillness

“And when you look up to the sky and see the sun, the moon and the stars—all the heavenly array—do not be enticed into bowing down to them and worshiping things the LORD your God has apportioned to all the nations under heaven.” Deuteronomy 4:19

No matter where you are, what you are doing, or what is going on in your life right now, I want to invite you into a moment of stillness today.

This week I found myself sitting by a fire, looking up at the stars of the sky, and soaking in the quietness of the night. I understand that you may not be able to mimic this exact set up for stillness. I know that the busyness of life can be consuming and exhausting. I realize that we are all navigating our own paths on this journey and trust me, I’ve experienced twists, turns, and road bumps of life.

But it wasn’t being fireside that mesmerized me into stillness. It wasn’t the stars themselves that gave me peace. And it wasn’t the quiet of the night that calmed my soul. It was the One who appointed these things into place.

Whether you are finding stillness under the stars, in your office, or within your home, He is there. There is no place you can go that He will not follow.

Invite Him into your place of stillness today. He is as present with you, wherever you may be, as He was with me under the stars in the quiet, darkness of the night.

Dwell in that space today.
