Beautiful Creation

“Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so. The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.” Genesis‬ ‭1:11-12‬ ‭NIV‬‬

As the trail opened up to an overview of a blue lake resting in the valley on today’s hike, my heart leapt at the goodness of God.

Have you ever considered that God could’ve made earth so boring? He could have bypassed the vibrant colors and the various landscapes. He could have gone without the rolling hills or the mountains, the valleys and the winding rivers.

But He didn’t. In His love for us, He has surrounded us with the beauty of creation AND He has given us the ability to enjoy it in so many ways.

From the hills of Carolina to the mountains of Nevada, the farmland of Ohio down to the beaches of Florida His evidence is all around.

As this day winds down or tomorrow begins, look around and see His beauty all around you. Take this week’s moment of stillness to dwell in this space.
